Naturopaths Focusing on Skin Health in Edmonton

Our Naturopathic Doctors look for the cause of your skin concerns

Acne, Eczema, Psoriasis and Hives are skin conditions often seen by our Naturopathic Doctors.

Our Naturopaths also have treatments for skin issues such as Rosacea, Peri-oral Dermatitis, Seborrheic Dermatitis, itching, yeast overgrowths and bruising.

Hair loss and alopecia are also areas that our Naturopaths can help with. For hair loss our approach is to understand thyroid function, as well as your male hormones and their 5-Alpha metabolites.

Hair loss work ups are best done with blood Thyroid testing as well and Urine "DUTCH" hormone testing.

For autoimmune hairloss concerns we usually look at food sensitivities, gut and microbiome balance as well as occult viral infections.

Urinary hormone testing testing is also excellent for acne as it gives us a breakdown of estrogen and androgens and their metabolites.

We are typically able to improve even the most severe skin cases. Our Naturopaths have helped patients with severe cases of Psoriasis, Eczema and Acne.

Dr. Sumar's electrodermal analysis "Vega-Testing" techniques can be extremely helpful for stubborn skin cases.

She can quantify histamine, inflammation and infections that are contributing to your skin concerns.

Acne, Eczema and Psoriasis treatment in Edmonton

Our Naturopaths often use Food Allergy & Sensitivity Testing as a cornerstone of many of our skin treatments.

Often times, reactive foods underlie cases of Acne, Eczema and Psoriasis.

Wheat, pork, tomatoes, nuts and citrus are common Acne trigger foods.

Dairy, gluten and eggs often cause or exacerbate Eczema

Gluten and alcohol are common triggers for Psoriasis.

In our Edmonton area patients, we see a lot of deficiencies responsible for cases of hives.
